Lead optimization
The paratope mapping allows to establish precisely the paratope of the antibody, to the nearest amino acid.
It also allows to know all the mutations that are permitted and that will allow the Lead optimization, a simultaneous optimization of the different parameters of the antibody (affinity, selectivity, cross-reactivity between species, humanization, de-immunization, specificity and stability).
Antibody optimization will cover simultaneously most of the preliminary requirements necessary to de-risk and bring a candidate to the clinical stage.
It takes 4 to 6 weeks to complete the lead optimization step.
